Champex-Lac – La Breya trail

Ascent of La Breya

Thursdays evenings

A technically easy trail with an altitude difference of 700m, also suitable for snowshoes, entirely in the ski area.

Departure from the bottom of the La Breya chairlift, with a large free car park. Follow the Petite Breya surface lift for 300 m, then turn right onto the Val d’Arpette trail.

Follow this for around 500 m and continue along the skirun, keeping to the left. When you arrive at the top of the ski area, continue straight ahead until you reach the restaurant, passing under the two chair lifts.

Variation

If the snow is not too hard, you can travel up the black run.
It is more technical, and good training for kick turns.
From the same starting point, follow the Petite Breya surface lift up to the summit then continue along the steep coomb at the top. Next, follow the red run to its highest point, then turn left to rejoin the standard itinerary for the last 300 metres to the restaurant.

  • Last slope at 9PM

  • Descend along one or other of the two itineraries.

Challenge Groupe Mutuel by Rando Nocturne

For the 2023-2024 winter season, the association is delighted to announce its partnership with the PopUp Challenge. Initiated in 2020 in the Vallée de Bagnes by journalist Romy Moret, this challenge encourages mountain and terroir enthusiasts to explore, through hiking, specific sites of interest in a given region. A special “Rando Nocturne” edition will be integrated into the application, enabling all routes to be validated as soon as night-time routes are secured.

The Association Rando Nocturne is delighted with this collaboration, which will undoubtedly help to strengthen communication around ski touring and guarantee safe, responsible practice.
