Marécottes – La Chaulée trail

Discover LA CHAULEE
The entire ascent is off-piste, with the exception of a few signposted crossings. Whether for walking or training, this trail is open to anyone equipped with touring skis
The opening of the night hike must be checked on the opening bulletin.
The night hike is offered on Friday evenings until 9:00 pm, subject to the following three conditions:
- The night hike is indicated as open on the opening bulletin.
- Snow conditions present no avalanche risk in the Les Marécottes area.
- Access to La Creusaz is possible by ski touring from Les Marécottes or from Les Peutex (La Chaulée d’en Bas indicated as open on the opening bulletin).
Route
Ascent
• Les Marécottes – La Creusaz: La Chaulée d’en Bas
• La Creusaz – La Golettaz: La Chaulée d’en Haut
Descent
• Via the marked piste “Les Perrons”.
Not permitted
The Chaulée Neuve route and the Eau Neuve piste are closed on Friday evenings.
Cancellation
In case of cancellation, the night hike is indicated as closed on the opening bulletin.
Pasta Party
For night hike participants only, and if the above conditions are met (La Chaulée d’en Bas route open and no avalanche risk), a pasta party may be organised at the La Creusaz restaurant, subject to the following condition: at least 20 people registered by 11:00 am on the preceding Thursday.
The “salad buffet & pasta party” menu is served between 7:00 pm and 8:30 pm.

Safety
• The night hike is permitted only under the conditions specified above.
• All restriction signs and barriers must be respected.
• From 9:00 pm, the start of piste grooming is announced by flashing lights indicating the danger related to grooming machine cables.
• Anyone entering the Les Marécottes ski area for the night hike does so at their own risk. VerticAlp Vallée du Trient SA accepts no liability in the event of an accident.
• Outside operating hours, the ski area is closed. Ski touring on the closed ski area is strictly prohibited outside this activity and these hours.
• Please consult the safety guidelines.
